Leigh Kane

I haven’t always worked in meat processing, fresh out of high school I tried different laboring jobs before landing my first job at Midfield cleaning the beef boning room floor. After working a few roles at Midfield I decided to try another career path and completed an apprenticeship in plastering. I then relocated to Queensland to work in the mines but as the mining boom began to go bust I landed myself a job back at Midfield Meats. I started my career sweeping floors in the beef boning room and now I am in charge of 100 people. The opportunity to work with such a varied number of people is one of the main things I enjoy about my job.
