The Midfield Group has an opening for a Qualified ‘A’ Grade Electrician. This position involves regular servicing, maintenance, modification and repairs to allow daily production targets to be met and to minimise downtime.  New equipment installation and servicing will also be required.  It is expected that all work will conform to legislative, regulatory, safety & quality requirements.  Work may be involved across multiple sites generally in and around the Warrnambool area with a rotating day and afternoon roster.

Candidates Requirements:

• Trade qualified
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities
• Possess a high attention to detail and be safety and quality focused
• Be able to work within a team setting and autonomously in a fast-paced environment

The successful applicant will preferably:

• Have Industrial experience
• Be competent with NHP Control
• Have a good understanding of PLC’s
• Possess a Forklift Licence and be EWP
• Confined Space and First Aid trained

Qualified Plumber

The Midfield Group has an opening for a Qualified Plumber at its Warrnambool based abattoir site.

Qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Fitters

Midfield Meat is seeking a number of qualified maintenance staff to help propel the next stage of growth for our company.

Warrnambool is located approximately 3 hours drive west of Melbourne.  The town is populated by approximately 33,000 people.  There is a wide range of schooling options right through to University and plenty of sporting clubs, shopping centres and social activities.

The positions involve regular servicing, maintenance, modification and repairs to allow daily production targets to be met and to minimise downtime.  New equipment installation and servicing will also be required.  It is expected that all work will conform to legislative, regulatory, safety & quality requirements.  Work may be involved across multiple sites generally in and around the Warrnambool area with a rotating day and afternoon roster when required.

Livestock Stock Handler/Transport Driver – Warrnambool

Midfield has a position vacant for a person to operate a calf truck, buying calves 2 – 4 days per week and transporting livestock.  The other days would involve livestock handling and animal husbandry on a local property.

This position would suit a dedicated, enthusiastic individual that is prepared to work weekends and capable of working autonomously and in a team environment safely.

To be successful the applicant will need to:

• have a current Medium Rigid License at a minimum
• demonstrate knowledge of stock handling and animal husbandry with relevant experience
• good verbal communication skills

Workshop Supervisor/Diesel Mechanic

The Midfield Group is looking to employ a highly motivated individual in a full time position within its Transport Division. This is an excellent opportunity to work on our late model fleet of vehicles and supervise a team of dedicated workshop staff in both a challenging and rewarding role.

The successful applicant should possess the following attributes:

• A high standard of workmanship and diagnostic skills

• Ability to assist others where necessary

• To provide “On-the-job Training” for apprentices
• Prepared to work overtime and share a rotational breakdown roster
• Report and work closely with the Transport Manager

Qualifications and experience:

• Background within the Heavy Transport industry
• Ability to process paperwork and ensure accurate record keeping
• Previous experience within the Commercial Vehicle industry is essential
• Being qualified in the trade
• Uphold a current Driver’s Licence, HC and forklift is an advantage
• Proficient in removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing components and parts
• Knowledge of systems such as, Power and Drive Trains, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Fuel Systems, Emission, Brakes, Steering and Hydraulics

APPRENTICESHIPS AVAILABLE
PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL & REFRIGERATION MECHANICAL

The Midfield Group has two apprenticeships available.  The successful applicants will be based at our Scott Street site but may be required to work at a number of different locations in the Warrnambool area.  The following prerequisites will see you working in a challenging and rewarding position within our company;

To be successful you should;

• show a genuine interest in the trade of choice
• be enthusiastic and have a ‘can do’ attitude
• be a well presented individual
• show a willingness to work safely as part of a team in a fast paced industrial environment
• be prepared to work varying shifts if required

A current Victorian Drivers License would be an advantage along with any pre-apprenticeship courses.

Senior Station Hand/Stock Handler

The Midfield Group has a position vacant in their farming operations. The successful applicants will be based on a
property approximately 20 kilometres north of Warrnambool.

To be successful the applicant:
• Must have experience working with stock and all aspects of animal husbandry
• Must have your own working dogs
• Will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of general farm maintenance and fencing
• Will have an understanding of pasture management
• Has experience with operating Farm machinery
• Will be able to work to a flexible roster that will involve weekends

Successful applicants will be expected to work safely within a team environment.

Skilled Meat Worker

The Midfield Group has a number of vacancies for experienced Meat personnel skilled in slaughtering, boning and butchering. To be successful the applicants will need to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the meat industry and have obtained a minimum skill level of AQF Certificate III in meat processing.
