Full Time Employment Agreement







  • Full-time Employment Agreement




    1. I accept employment with “the Company” specified above as a full-time employee in the classification specified above. I will be paid an hourly rate as specified above. My employment will commence on the date specified above.
    2. I understand I will be employed on a full-time basis. The first 6 months of my employment are a probationary period. My hours of work will be an average of 38 ordinary hours per week, plus reasonable additional hours. I agree that I may be required to work regular overtime. I agree that ordinary hours of work at the Company start at 5am, however my actual hours of work including my actual start time will depend on the floor I work on and will be communicated to me by my supervisor.
    3. I understand that if the Company terminates my employment it will give me notice of termination, or pay in lieu of notice, in accordance with the table below. If I am aged over 45 and have more than 2 years of continuous service, the notice or pay in lieu provided by the Company will be increased by one week. I understand that if I engage in serious misconduct, my employment will be terminated without notice. If I want to resign, I understand that I must give the Company notice of my resignation in accordance with the table below.

    4. I agree that I may be required to work on some public holidays. I understand that I will be paid on a weekly basis with my wages being deposited directly into my bank account. In the event of a mistaken overpayment by the Company, I agree to reimburse the Company an amount equivalent to the overpayment.

    5. I agree to work shifts which may be rotating or continuous, and which may be worked over 5, 6 or 7 days per week.

    6. I agree that while working for the Company I will not perform work for any other person, organisation or business without the Company’s prior permission.

    7. I agree that I will perform my duties and responsibilities with all due skill, care and diligence. I agree I will comply with all lawful directions given to me by the Company.

    8. I agree to comply with all of The Midfield Group policies and procedures, as varied from time to time, however I understand that they do not form part of my contract of employment.

    9. I acknowledge and have been informed that the meat processing industry is one where there are strict rules and regulations. I agree to abide by all the rules and regulations set out by the Company and regulatory bodies involved in meat processing.

    10. I understand that strict conformity with safety rules, proper use of safety equipment, and the wearing of suitable clothing and approved footwear, is required of employees by the Company.

    11. I understand that the terms of employment may include participation in trainee schemes if and when they are conducted and if the company directs me to participate.

    12. I agree to submit to examination by a medical or allied health professional nominated by the company if so required at any time during my employment in order to assess (1) my fitness for duty and/or (2) my ability to perform the inherent requirements of my position.

    13. I agree to have a hearing test, as and when directed by the Company.

    14. I have informed the Company of ail previous medical or hearing conditions concerning myself that are known to me and agree that the company is not liable for any medical or hearing problems arising from, or as a result of, any such conditions.

    15. I am not aware that I am affected with any medical condition that would be “an impediment to the wholesome production of meat for human consumption”. I will supply (at my own cost), a Certificate of Medical Acceptance (EM0121).

    16. As many tasks involve detailed inspection of product for human consumption, I agree to supply at my own cost if required, evidence of an eyesight examination to verify a standard of vision suitable to the task.

    17. I understand that the possession or consumption of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted during work hours or at the plant. I understand that! may be required to submit to drug and alcohol testing during the pre-employment medical examination as outlined in The Midfield Group policy documents. I understand that to arrive at the plant for work under the influence, or in the possession, of drugs or alcohol could result in instant termination of the employment contract due to the unacceptable safety risks involved.

    18. I understand that unexplained absenteeism is not acceptable at the plant. If I am unable to report for work, I have to notify the plant before 6am on the day or by 12 noon if working afternoon shift.

    19. I have read and understood the above agreement and the employee induction-manual issued to me.

    20. I have received a copy of the Fair Work Information Sheet prior to commencing employment.
