PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
For PPE to be effective, it needs to be placed and removed in a particular order. This is the order recommended by the Australian Department of Health. The order stays the same, but steps may be skipped, depending on what level of PPE the staff member is wearing.

Fit in this order:

  1. Wash hands or use alcohol-based rub or both
  2. Mask
  3. Goggles (if appropriate)
  4. Gown/ Apron
  5. Gloves

Remove in this order:

  1. Gloves
  2. Wash hands or use alcohol-based rub or both
  3. Goggles (if appropriate)
  4. Apron/Gown
  5. Mask
  6. Wash hands or use alcohol-based rub or both

All staff are encouraged to visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus for any relevant fact sheets regarding COVID-19. The DHHS information line is 1800 675 398. These services are freely available to all employees/contractors and members of the community. Staff will also notice that there is a new question added on our COVID declaration form that you will receive again this Sunday the 9th August, 2020.

In the last 7 days have you worked for another employer at any facility, work site or factory?
If yes, which employer?

This question along with the rest of the form must be completed as usual prior to starting work Monday morning the 10th August, 2020. Staff are also encouraged NOT to carpool, if possible. If this is not possible, we would encourage employees to limit the numbers of persons per vehicle where practical, use cloth or surgical face masks, cleaning and disinfection of commonly touched surfaces after each trip and to practice good hand hygiene.

We would also instruct staff that there must be no sharing of food and drink by staff who do not share a household while on plant. All these steps are necessary precautions that must take place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
